Fifth General Assembly of the Nepal Zoological Society (NeZoS)
The Fifth General Assembly of the Nepal Zoological Society (NeZoS) has been successfully concluded Virtually on 30th Ashwin 2077 (16 October 2020). The opening ceremony of the assembly has been participated by more than 100 participants followed by the close session. As a Chairman of the General Assembly organizing committee, I would like to thank all the organizers (all the members of the former executive committee) for their generous efforts to make the assembly a grand success. I would like to thank all guest speakers of the opening ceremony specially, Mr. Juddha Gurung, Mr. Toran Bahadur Karki, Prof. Dr. Tej BahadurThapa, Prof. Dr. Ananda Shova Tamrakar, Prof. Dr. Ranjana Gupta and founder president of NeZoS, Prof. Dr. Jiwan Shrestha. The opening programme was chaired by the president of the society, Prof. Dr. Nanda Bahadur Singh, presently Vice-Chancellor of the Mid-Western University and welcomed to the guests and participants by Vice-president of the Society Prof. Dr. Kumar Sapkota.
In the close session, the house has unanimously passed two reports, general report presented by General Secretory, Prof. Dr. Mahendra Maharjan, and financial report presented by Dr. Hari Sharma. Similarly, the house has passed two important amendments of the constitution with minor revision. So I am very much thankful to the Constitution amendment committee chaired by Prof. Dr. Jiwan Shrestha. I am equally thankful to the three member election committee Chaired by former patron of the society, Prof. Dr. Ranjana Gupta for their generous efforts to conclude the process free, fair and disciplined way.
All the zoologists as well as NeZoS members are also equally thankful for their active and disciplined participation to make the assembly a grand success. Furthermore, I would like to thank IT expert Mr. Panchha Dev Bhatta from Mid-Western University for his continuous monitoring and helps to make the virtual conference successful.
Last but not the least, I am very much thankful to Ms. Urmila Dyola for her excellent role as a MC of both the sessions of the GA. At the end I would like to congratulate all the newly elected 15 members of the NeZoS and best wishes for an active and creative role to uplift the society in coming days.
